classification based on the National Occupational Classification System. - Gained a 67 passing score based on the six factors for eligibility among skilled workers.
- Passed and gained an intermediate English or French proficiency of 7 (based on the Canadian Language Benchmark) under an accredited third-party language testing center.
- Sufficient settlement funds
- You passed a security background check and medical examination.
Six Eligibility Factors For Immigration to Canada
As mentioned, six factors determine your eligibility to immigrate to Canada. You should earn points between 67 to 100 to qualify.
Age
You can gain the highest score for this factor, 12 points, if you are between 18 to 35 years old. The points will reduce by one until it reaches 0 if you are already 47.
Educational attainment
You can obtain the highest points (25) based on your educational attainment. To credit your education outside of Canada, you need to get an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report from any authorized agency to know if your diploma or finished degree aligns with Canada’s educational system.
Work or employment experience
You can get 15 points depending on how many years you have worked full-time (or any equivalent part-time work). The new program allows skilled workers to qualify even if they only have one to six years of full-time employment.
Language proficiency
English and French are two languages commonly used in Canada. If you pass any of these language proficiency examinations (which include speaking, reading, writing, and listening) and reach an intermediate level, you can gain up to 28 points.
Arranged employment
If you have a confirmed job offer for at least one year from an employer in Canada, you can earn up to 10 points from this category. However, you need to receive the offer as a skilled federal worker before submitting your application and arriving in Canada.
Adaptability
The adaptability refers to your study or work experience in Canada. Your relatives, spouse, or common-law partner with Canadian citizenship or PR visa are also under this category as they can affect your eligibility to stay in the country.
